How much does it cost to hire Tubby?
Our prices depend on a couple of things – the best option for your event, when and where it is – so it’s best to call us to discuss. You can email us for a quote – just tell us a bit about the event, the date and where it’ll be.
Do you do birthday parties?
From time to time we are invited to perform at private parties, but we tend to concentrate on performing at major public events. You’re welcome to contact us - if we’re available we’re happy to quote.
Who are the Happy Android Company?
We are an independent theatre company based in Melbourne, that provides for the creative interests of Paul Cooper and Jody Kingston. Having worked on many projects over the years, we now focus all our creative energies on making Tubby a household name.
Does Tubby perform at charity events?
Yes we do and have performed for some wonderful charities over the years. You’re very welcome to contact us to discuss your event.
Do kids ever get scared?
Even though Tubby is one of the friendliest big suits you’ll ever meet, some kids are naturally confronted by the ‘strangeness’ of it all. We believe there’s a fine line between fascination and fear, and Tubby plays at this edge with the greatest respect for each child’s natural reaction.
Tubby looks so big. Has he ever squashed anyone?
Never. The suit is designed with public safety in mind, and each roving show is actively managed by a chaperone. So humans big and small have no need to worry.
What about legals? Do you have public liability and Working with Children checks?
Yes, we have current working with children checks and public liability cover to A$20million.
